DECES D'UN PARA ANGLAIS

Obituary: WWII Paratrooper Gordon Savage, MBE, British National Party Life Member and British Hero

Last Friday was a sad day for members of Copeland British National Party who filled St Peter’s church in Kells, Whitehaven, to pay their last respects to

Gordon Savage, MBE.

Mr Savage, an ardent BNP supporter, friend and hero, passed away after a prolonged illness.

“This has deeply saddened all his many friends in the local group and in the party as a whole,” said national organiser Clive Jefferson.

“Our thoughts are with Gordon's family.

He was a legend, having taken part in Operation Market Garden and a member of the first regiment of Paratroopers, an achievement recognised by the Queen when he received his MBE for services to the regiment.

“I don't think I can remember Gordon without a smile on his face and a positive word for our continuing fight. Rest in peace Gordon,” Mr Jefferson said.

Nick Griffin MEP said: "I had the honour of meeting Gordon on several occasions, the last time being when I called at his house to see him last year on election day.

“He was an inspiration to us all, a true Nationalist in the purest sense of the word and he fought for his country in many ways right through his life.

He will be deeply missed and always remembered with the respect such men deserve."
