Chinese American and Two South Korean Missionaries Detained at House Church Meeting
Only small amounts of information have been released at this point,
but it appears that an American citizen and two South Korean
missionaries were detained a few days ago at a meeting of Christian
college students in Shandong Province. Their passports have been
confiscated as authorities decide how to handle their cases.
Pray for the release of these innocent people.
Pray for God to be glorified in their situation.
Pray that China will see true freedom of religion.

Indonesian Christians Living in New Jersey Church Get Reprieve
Eight Indonesian Christians have been living in or near a New
Jersey church for months after they were threatened with deportation
from the United States. The Christians fled mass persecution in
Indonesia nearly a decade ago but failed to file the proper paperwork
after the Sept. 11, attacks required anyone who had come to the U.S.
from Muslims nations on temporary visas to register. U.S. immigration
officials have given the Christians a reprieve from deportation.
Pray the U.S. grants these Christians permission to stay.
Pray that every need they have is provided for.
Pray the many others like them who need to flee persecution will find refuge.

Christian Convert in Sudan Loses Right to See Children
After South Sudan split from Sudan in 2011, President Al-Bashir
declared he intended to make the country more rooted in Sharia law. This
proclamation began a new wave of persecution against Christians in
Sudan. Christian schools have been closed, Christian foreigners have
been deported, and churches have been destroyed as a result. In the
midst of all this, Mohammed Khidir Khalil Hassan lost the right to see
his children because of his Christian identity. He recently won back the
right to see his children eight hours every month, but sharing anything
about his Christian identity with his children could be used as a
pretext to take away his visitation rights.
Pray Khidir will get to share his faith with his children in a way that compromises neither his faith nor his ability to see them.
Pray for religious freedom in Sudan.
Pray Khidir’s children will come to know Christ early in life, and in such a way that they cannot be swayed.

Assyrian Christians Return to Turkey, but Not Without Struggles
Encouraged by changes in the political atmosphere, nearly a hundred
Assyrian Christian families have returned to Turkey from Eastern Europe
in recent years. Nonetheless, Assyrians continue to face many problems,
“from the expropriation of land belonging to a monastery, to a ban on
special schools and kindergartens, and also a lack of places of worship
in Istanbul,” Qantara.de reports.
Pray Christians in Turkey will be granted minority status.
Pray they will be allowed to teach their children the language they choose.
Pray for the Gospel to be spread throughout Turkey.

Death for Preaching Christ in "Liberated" Libya
With Libya’s ‘liberation,’ which has brought some positive changes
in the country, is also the threat of rising Islamic extremism. In
Libya, Egypt, and several Middle Eastern countries, Islamists have
gained significant political influence, and sentences against
proselytizing, blasphemy, and apostasy are being enforced to an extent
never seen under former dictatorships. The Islamist agenda is clear: to
establish an Islamic state based on the principles of Sharia law. The
ramifications of that agenda in Libya are perhaps clearer now than ever
before with the arrest of seven Christian foreigners this month. In this
article, Raymond Ibrahim looks at the history of Islam in Libya,
questions the Obama administration’s approach in developing a ‘new’
Libya, and fears for the future of Christianity and religious freedoms
in the country.
Pray Libya will truly be liberated.
Pray for our president’s wisdom in handing relations with Libya.
Pray for religious freedom throughout the Middle East.

Vietname: Five Christian Families Attacked, Beaten Up by Fellow Villagers
Five newly converted Christian families in the Central Highlands of
Vietnam have faced days of harassment and physical violence by their
neighbors after their decision to follow Christ aggravated fellow
villagers. Communist government officials have not bothered to step in
and stop the attacks despite calls for help. It is not uncommon in
Vietnam for communist authorities, who are already suspicious of certain
ethnic groups and hostile towards Christianity, to encourage and even
participate in attacking Christians.
Pray for the safety of Christians in Vietnam.
Pray the government will provide justice for victims of attacks rather than participate in the attacks.
Pray the Christian witness of a life well lived will bring the villagers to a saving knowledge of Christ.
