Obama to ensure pillar of Islam, zakat, easier

Translation. Obama will make funding the jihad easier.

At least according to Muslim sources.

“…I’m committed to working with American Muslims to ensure that they can fulfill zakat,” Barack Obama

Here’s a little background on zakat from “Fiqh az-Zakat: A Comparative Study,” by Yousef al-Qaradawi, the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood (whom Obama invited to his speech and apparently met with in the White House):

“The most honorable form of jihad nowadays is fighting for the liberation of Muslim land from the domination of unbelievers, regardless of their religion or ideology. The communist and the capitalist, the Westerner and the Easterner, Christian, Jew, pagan or unbeliever, all are aggressors when they attack and occupy Muslim land. Fighting in defence of the home of Islam is obligatory until the enemy is driven away and Muslims are liberated.”

“The most important form of jihad today is serious, purposefully organized work to rebuild Islamic society and state and to implement the Islamic way of life in the political, cultural and economic domains. This is certainly most deserving of zakat. ”

Another Islamic source, former Muslim Chaplain at George Washington University, enlightens us on jihad and how financial support (including zakat) is a form of jihad. From a six part lecture entitled The Constants of Jihad: (note: video was removed – related Anwar al-Awlaki videos here)

To be clear, according to Islamic sources, the sharia even, financial support for the fighters of jihad is part of jihad, and fighting the unbelievers is most deserving of zakat.

Barack Obama stated contributing zakat was made harder for Muslims after 9/11 yet the reality is contributing directly to Islamic “charities” that directly funded Islamic terrorists was made a little harder. However, we know U.S.-based Islamic group Al Maghrib recently facilitated an online fundraiser for U.S. citizens to directly fund Hamas in Gaza, so it’s not nearly as hard as Obama claims.

Yet now Obama is going to ensure that fulfilling zakat, and hence jihad, is easier and he announced that to the entire Muslim world, including the Muslim Brotherhood, Hizbollah, Hamas, Al Qaeda, Hizb, and any other Islamic group who wants to funnel U.S. dollars to the jihad.
