Woe to those... !

Dear Jean-Pierre Schweitzer, In Isaiah 10, God reveals His anger at evil political systems and those who use unjust laws to oppress His people: Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless.  Isaiah 10:1-2 NIV Pakistan's Devastating Blasphemy Laws In Pakistan, the justice system has been shaped by radical Muslims. They have created laws that kill and imprison Christians if they dare to say anything against their false prophet. These laws have absolutely devastated hundreds of Christian families as husbands are taken from their families, imprisoned for years, and often killed in prison. Even if they are freed by the Supreme Court, these families live a desperate existence. Their Only Hope The one North Star these families have as they wander through their hunted existence is the Lord. In Scripture, His heart for the poor and oppressed is clearly evident: The LORD secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy.  Psalm 140:12 NIV Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. Isaiah 1:17 NIV  Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?  James 2:15-16 NIV This is what the LORD says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed.  Jeremiah 22:3 NIV Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.  Proverbs 31:8-9 NIV We Are His Hands and Feet The Lord is the defender and protector of these families but He calls on us to be His hands and feet in protecting and providing for them. Ten days ago, we asked you to help us raise $90,000 to rescue 30 of these families whose husbands have been charged with blasphemy. These families are facing disaster as they live a hunted and oppressed existence. Some of the fathers are in prison and their families are left to fend for themselves as they live on the edge of financial disaster. But for only $3,000 we can totally transform their lives: We give the wife a small business to sustain herself and her children. We relocate the family from their hostile communities to a safe haven. We can provide competent legal aid to fight an unjust system. We provide school tuition so their children can attend a school that doesn't persecute them. We provide food relief to get the children healthy again. Help Us Rescue 30 Families We are seeking to raise $90,000 to rescue 30 of these families. In just our first week of fundraising, ICC has received 10 percent of the needed funds to help rescue 30 families. Pakistan's Federal Court has recently been calling for a mandatory death sentence for blasphemy against Islam; so now more than ever, Christian minorities need our help. Please stand with our brothers and sisters today.
