Central Asia Exerts Stranglehold on Religious Freedom
10/2/2013 Central Asia (International Christian Concern)

The five countries that make up Central Asia-Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan- all have recent reports of repressing religious freedom. They do not allow any religious activity unless it has government approval and persecute anyone who violates their laws. Their most popular method is fining people sums that are very difficult to pay and torture victims to prove their power.

  • Pray for those who are suffering from fines that put them in severe financial hardship
  • Pray that God would bring His comforting touch to believers during this difficult time
  • Pray the governments will repent for oppressing religious minorities
