Atheist Group Sues US Gov’t to Remove ‘In God We Trust’ from Currency
An atheist group called The Freedom from Religion Foundation
recently sued the United States Treasury Department. They want to remove
"In God We Trust" from the face of paper bills and coins. The
group says the motto forces non-religious persons to make a statement of
faith whenever using the currency. Three previous attempts to remove
the motto have been struck down, but many believe this group has a
strong case. If this lawsuit wins, all American currency will be changed
forever.
Pray that this
lawsuit would not build unnecessary walls between believers and
non-believers, but would be an opportunity to share the Gospel and the
grace of Jesus Christ with those who need it most
Pray for the hearts of atheists worldwide to be turned to God
Pray for our leaders and government officials to act with integrity, rather than be motivated by fear

Chinese Christian Prosecuted After Assisting Impoverished Seniors
A Chinese Christian who helped nearly 200 senior workers in 2010
claim missing benefits for work done decades ago has been arrested in
what appears to be an act of revenge by the local government. He was
placed under criminal detention in March 2012, formally arrested in
August, and indicted in December. Although Christians in China often
lead the way in campaigning for human rights and religious freedom
issues, it is often those same courageous Christians who are targeted
with the harshest forms of persecution.
Pray for the safety and release of our courageous brother in Christ
Pray for the brave Christians in China who are willing to risk everything for their faith
Pray for religious freedom for China

At Least Twenty Killed in Suicide Bombing on Christian Neighborhood in Nigeria
At least twenty people have been killed by a series of bombings
targeting buses in a predominately Christian neighborhood of Nigeria’s
northern city of Kano. A rescue official on the scene reported, “I
saw three buses on fire. One of them was fully loaded with passengers
waiting to leave the station at the time of the blasts.” Officials
suspect the series of explosions were likely initiated by suicide
bombers, but investigators are still collecting evidence to confirm that
theory. Because the attacks took place in a predominately Christian
area of Kano, most officials suspect Christians were the target of the
attack. Innocent Christians in northern Nigeria continue to be targeted
for some of Boko Haram’s most heinous acts of violence. The official
death toll is expected to rise as security officials continue to examine
the scene of Monday’s attack.
Pray for the families of those who were killed in the attack
Pray for violence in Nigeria to be stopped, and for peace to cover the country

Pakistani Government Aid Commendable, but Perpetrators of Anti-Christian Violence Still at Large
International Christian Concern commends the government of Pakistan
for its immediate response in providing financial aid promising to
rebuild the houses of Christian families following the destruction of
some 180 Christian homes by a Muslim mob in Lahore on March 9. While
victims are satisfied with the government’s relief efforts, they doubt
the government’s pledge to bring the perpetrators to justice. Past
experience has shown that offenders of anti-Christian violence in
Pakistan are rarely prosecuted, and usually operate with impunity.
Praise God that the Pakistani government is responding to the needs of its people and providing aid!
Pray for full
restoration of homes and possessions for the attacked Christian
community; pray for the Holy Spirit to comfort the victims in their time
of need
Pray for the
government of Pakistan to punish those involved and provide justice to
those who were attacked, sending a message that this kind of extreme
action will not be tolerated

Wife of Imprisoned Pastor in Iran: ‘No Heart to Tell Kids Daddy Might Never Survive’
Naghmeh Abedini, the wife of Pastor Saeed, an American sentenced to
eight years in prison for his Christian faith in Iran, testified on
Capitol Hill last week to fight for her husband’s freedom. Naghmeh and
Pastor Abedini have two children, Rebekka Grace, 6, and Jacob Cyrus, 4. "A day does not go by that they do not ask for their daddy. A day does not go by that they do not long for him,”
she shared. If the U.S. government does not act, and soon, Pastor Saeed
might never survive his 8 year prison sentence. Naghmeh said, "I'm disappointed that our president and our State Department has not fully engaged in this case," she said. "I'm
disappointed that this great country is not doing more to free my
husband – a U.S. citizen. Yes, we are both proud to be American
citizens. And I expect more from our government.”
Pray for strength and encouragement for Naghmeh Abedini
Pray for the U.S. government to take immediate action for Pastor Saeed
Pray for safety for Pastor Saeed while he remains in one of Iran’s most torturous prisons
