During their fourth outdoor worship service of 2013, at least 21
believers were arrested at Shouwang Church, in Beijing, China. The
church holds outdoor services because it was forced out of its building
by local authorities more than a year ago. The congregation has refused
to cave under pressure. They continue to try to meet every Sunday, and
every Sunday members are taken away for questioning by the police. All
the church’s pastors have been placed under house arrest.
Pray the persecution of these church members would cease.
Pray the pastors would be released from house arrest.
Pray for religious freedom throughout China.

90 Days to Freedom: A Christian Family Makes a Dash from Prison to the Border
Pastor Makset and his family have had to flee their homeland
because he is wanted by the Uzbekistan government based on allegations
that he was leading house churches without official registration. They
first fled to Kazakhstan to escape arrest, but then Uzbekistan increased
the charges from “criminal accusations” to charges of terrorism, and
demanded the Kazakh government send him home to face trial. When
Kazakhstan released him, instead, he and his family flew to a new life
in Europe, and they are now living in a secret location.
Pray for the continued safety of Pastor Makset and his family.
Pray they would not be discovered in their new home in Europe.
Pray the Uzbekistan government would drop the charges on Pastor Makset so he and his family no longer have to live in hiding.

Two Christians Hospitalized in China
A Catholic church in Leshan, a city in south-central China, had
agreed to sell some property to a construction company. Parishioners of
the church had gone to the property to protest because the construction
company had begun development on the land, even though the company has
not yet paid the church the amount the two parties had agreed on. The
protest turned violent and two parishioners were hospitalized. One, a
woman in her 60s, was reported to be in critical condition.
Pray the church will receive the money due them in the land deal.
Pray the government will settle the dispute between the construction company and the church in a just manner.
Pray for the full recovery of the two victims of the violence.

Belarus Keeps Religious Communities in "Invisible Ghetto" of Regulation
Belarus is so intent on keeping control of its citizens’ religious
practices that they are “hostile towards followers of faiths they see as
a political threat, particularly Protestantism.” One particular church,
New Life Church, was served an eviction order to vacate the building
they have been worshiping in for at least a decade, during which time
they have struggled to maintain control of the church’s private
property. The eviction order has been rescinded, but the church’s
struggle is still ongoing.
Pray for religious freedom in all of Belarus.
Pray that New Life Church will not be harassed by the government any longer.
Pray that New Life Church will not be harassed by the government any longer.

Tightened Sharia in Aceh Worrisome for Indonesia's Christians
Less than a year after a hardline Islamic activist became the
governor of Indonesia’s Aceh Province, emboldened local leaders are
strengthening the implementation of Sharia law in the region. Last
February, religious police raided a concert, arrested 64 youths, held
them for 10 days, forcing them to get haircuts, change their clothes and
pray. Aceh is the only province in Indonesia where Islamic law is
enforced.
Pray for religious freedom throughout Indonesia.
Pray Sharia law would be stopped from oppressing the people of Aceh, no matter their religious preference.
Pray for Aceh’s Christians, who are most victimized by Sharia law.
