CHRONIQUE DE L'ISLAMISATION DES USA

Sharia & American Laws for American Courts (video)

via the NY Times:

Two lawyers offer opposing views on a growing movement to restrict American judges from considering Islamic law, also known as shariah, when adjudicating cases.

The Center for Security Policy’s general counsel, David Yerushalmi, is interviewed by the New York Times about the American Public Policy Alliance and “American Laws for American Courts.”

The American Public Policy Alliance (APPA), a non-partisan advocacy organization dedicated to protecting U.S. constitutional rights, safeguarding U.S. sovereignty and promoting government transparency and accountability, is working with legislators nationwide on policies and initiatives.

Watch the video for the other lawyer at the NYT link above. It wouldn’t embed but hopefully someone can get it on Youtube or another format because it’s probably more important for Americans to see the Islamic point of view.

That lawyer, Abed Awad, we noted devised an “Islamic Law and Jurisprudence” course in New Jersey with Jersey’s now first Muslim superior court judge. Awad’s resume suggests that sharia has already been used in NJ courts.

Saadeh v. Odatalla, 355 N.J.Super. 305 (Ch.Div.2002). Represented the plaintiff/wife in case of first impression in NJ where the Court agreed to enforce the mahr provision in a Muslim marriage contract under NJ law.
