LA PERFIDE ALBION...
William Hague Not Vague about Betraying Britain’s Interests
Tory Foreign Secretary William Hague has announced his commitment to betray Britain’s interests at every possible opportunity through a policy of actively seeking Turkey’s EU membership, subjecting foreign policy to America’s interests and by increasing foreign aid to nations which he admitted will soon have economies larger than ours.
In a speech last week at the Foreign and Commonwealth office in London, Mr Hague spelled out the exact details of his betrayal in no uncertain terms.
“Economic power and economic opportunity are shifting to the countries of the East and South; to the emerging powers of Brazil, India, China and Asia and to increasingly significant economies such as Turkey and Indonesia,” Mr Hague said, adding that “by 2050, emerging economies will be up to 50 percent larger than those of the current G7, including of course the United Kingdom.”
Despite this obvious fact, Mr Hague went on to commit British taxpayers to paying even more foreign aid to those same nations.
“We will honour our commitment to spend 0.7 percent of GNI [Gross National Income] on overseas aid from 2013, to enshrine this commitment in law and maintain DfID [Department for International Development] as a separate Department,” he said.
Based on currently available figures, 13 percent of Britain’s GNI translates to over £13 billion per year, which is a £4 billion increase from the current œ9 billion foreign aid budget.
This outrage becomes even more scandalous when it is considered that this money has to be borrowed by the government in the first place, plunging British taxpayers into even more debt.
Mr Hague went on to assert that British foreign policy would still be intrinsically tied to American policy.
“Our unbreakable alliance with the United States ... is our most important relationship and will remain so,” Mr Hague said.
This “unbreakable alliance” is the primary reason why Britain is in Afghanistan and took part in the illegal and immoral war in Iraq. In addition, it is also the primary reason why Mr Hague supports the gathering war clouds against Iran.
Subservience to American foreign policy, which itself is in the hands of influential private lobbies in that nation, has proven nothing but disastrous for Britain and has cost the lives of hundreds of British soldiers and has caused terrorism at home.
Mr Hague, however, seems quite pleased to be able to continue this gross betrayal of Britain’s interests.
Finally, Mr Hague fully committed his regime to supporting Turkey’s entry into the EU.
“We should also see the value of Turkey's future membership of the European Union in this light,” he said.
“Turkey is Europe's biggest emerging economy and a good example of a country developing a new role and new links for itself, partly on top of and partly outside of existing structures and alliances and is highly active in the Western Balkans, the wider Middle East and Central Asia.”
What Mr Hague omitted to say was that in March this year, Turkey relaxed visa restrictions for several Middle Eastern countries, including Syria and Libya.
This means that once Turkey is part of the EU, almost the entire Middle East will have legal and visa-free access to Europe, and to Britain ‘s welfare system in particular.
Significantly, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan made the announcement of the visa relaxation procedures while on a visit to Saudi Arabia.
When he was asked at a press conference if this visa liberalisation would change should Turkey join the EU, Mr Erdogan answered with a quote from the Koran: ‘Strive for what is right, as it (by God) is commanded.”
This then, is Britain’s foreign policy, literally, it seems, in the hands of a madman.
