| Dear jean-pierre,
Earlier this week, we called on our supporters to help urge the University of Utah to retire Robert, a gentle orange tabby cat who was purchased by the school for $15 from the Davis County animal shelter and was used in cruel experiments. During these experiments, deep incisions were cut into his skull, and electrodes were implanted into his brain.
It gives me great pleasure to share with you that PETA has received confirmation from university officials that Robert will be retired from the laboratory and adopted into a new home. While this is excellent news for Robert, other homeless cats and dogs from animal shelters are still languishing in the University of Utah's laboratories, and they are relying on you to speak out in their behalf.
Please take a moment to contact the Univeristy of Utah and demand an end to its archaic practice of betraying dogs and cats in shelters by purchasing them for cruel—and often deadly—experiments. Thank you for standing up for animals!
Sincerely,
