UN MESSAGE DU PARTI NATIONALISTE BULGARE "ATAKA"

NO TO TURKEY IN EUROPEAN UNION


The main slogan of the Bulgarian nationalist ATAKA party in its 2009 European Elections campaign has been "No to Turkey in EU".

The slogan was announced by the ATAKA party leader Volen Siderov himself
after he registered his party's ticket with the Central Elections Commission.

According to Siderov, ATAKA ("Attack") has made the public in the EU member states aware of the genocide that Turkey has caused to the Bulgarian people.

"We have claims of EUR 50 B against Turkey over this genocide that it has incurred upon us", Siderov said.

The ATAKA party started its 2009 European Elections campaign
on May, 17 in the southern Bulgarian town of Batak, where thousands of Bulgarians were slaughtered
by the Turkish “bashi-bazouk” troops in 1876.

The start of ATAKA's campaign has been arranged there in order to coincide with the remembrance events of the 133 since the April Uprising of the Bulgarians against the Ottoman Empire.

Batak is known as the site where Ottoman irregular troops and Muslims from the nearby villages slaughtered brutally severally thousand Bulgarians, mostly women, children, and elderly, when suppressing the rebellion.

The ATAKA party 2009 European Elections ticket is headed by its three present Members of the European Parliament
- Dimitar Stoyanov, Slavi Binev, and Desislav Chukulov.

Siderov has predicted that his party would get four MEP seats in the coming European Parliament Elections on June 7.

The ATAKA leader has named the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) and its governing coalition partners, the Bulgarian Socialist Party and the National Movement for Stability and Progress, as the party's main adversaries in the elections.
