USA: Religious Freedom Under Threat in New Presidential Employment Order?
On
July 21, President Obama signed an executive order that banned
employment discrimination based upon gender identity and sexual
orientation within businesses and organizations that have federal
contracts. In a letter to the President, Christian figures such as Rick
Warren and Andy Couch called for a strong religious exemption to be
included in the order. This request was denied, which has prompted
strong reactions from both secular and religious organizations alike,
both praising and denouncing him for his decision.
- Pray President Obama will amend his order and include the rights of religion
- Pray Christians will continue to be proactive in defending our freedom of conscience in the workplace
- Pray the leaders of the United States will seek Christ diligently, receiving His instruction in wisdom and knowledge

After 2,000 Years, the Last Christian is Forced to Leave Mosul
At noon this
past Saturday, the last Christian was reported to have left Mosul, Iraq.
Forced out of their homes by the Islamic State, Iraqi Christians fled
from Mosul to escape execution or forced conversion. The Christian
community of Mosul stretches back 2,000 years with a rich history of the
early Church and developing faith that now stretches to all corners of
the globe. Many families were forced to leave with just the clothes on
their backs. Left with nothing, these Iraqi Christians begin the search
for a safe community to avoid the increasing persecution throughout the
Middle East.
