Islamville: Recent Recordings of Gunfire at Radical Enclave

The site is run by a radical group named Muslims of the Americas (MOA) that follows a radical cleric in Pakistan named Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani.
Islamville’s website says it was founded in 1983 by Gilani and is home to “the very first Islamic shrine in America,” Baitun-Noor Holy Khanaqah, “one of the holiest shrines in the world.”
The Department of Homeland Security says it is linked to Jamaat ul-Fuqra, a Pakistani militant group also led by Gilani. The State Department describes ul-Fuqra as "an Islamic sect that seeks to purify Islam through violence."
The Muslims of the America’s headquarters are in Hancock, New York at a 70-acre commune called “Islamberg,” a site familiar to those that have watched the Clarion Project’s documentary,
The Third Jihad.
MOA says it has 22 of these “villages” around the U.S., though other sources put the number as high as 35.
The July 3 gunfire took place during a celebration that featured visitors from across the country. The local source has been in contact with the author for approximately four years and has provided reliable information in the past.
Gunfire coming from Islamville has also been recorded and released from November 2009, March 2011 and May 2011. In addition, sounds of apparent explosions were heard on January 26, 2012 and April 6, 2012.
Neighboring residents have confirmed to local newspapers that they have seen residents carrying AK-47s and M-16s in the woods and often hear gunfire at night.
To get a handle on the importance of these recordings and sightings, you need to see a secret tape made by Gilani in Pakistan that was distributed to some of his American followers.
After warning viewers to keep the tape secret, he explains, “We are establishing training camps” and recruits are “most welcome to join one of the most advanced training courses in Islamic military warfare” by getting in touch with MOA offices in Pakistan, Canada or throughout America, specifically mentioning South Carolina as an option.
Gilani then shows the offered training, including the use of explosives, firearms training and all kinds of hand-to-hand combat techniques.
Some media outlets like CBS News tried to use the tape’s age to dismiss its credibility. However, shortly after it was seen in the 2009 Homegrown Jihad documentary, a law enforcement source provided me with two more MOA tapes.

g the U.S. as a Muslim country that it must defend from foreign and domestic enemies. The second tape gave a glimpse of what this meant.
It showed women at “Islamberg” in New York training in guerilla warfare, dressed in military fatigue. They marched in formation, learned defense tactics, practiced the use of knives and swords, scaled walls and fired guns into a lake. The tapes were shared with author Martin Mawyer for release on the Internet.
Martin Mawyer’s new book, Twilight in America, includes the story of nearby residents whose dog ran away onto the Islamville property. The two individuals were stopped from entering by a man in full Islamic garb armed with an AK-47. The couple was escorted by four armed men into the compound to find the dog.
According to his book, one former Islamville member said that Gilani had instructed residents to move out into the surrounding areas. Similar movement was also seen in Islamberg and a MOA site in Tennessee.
Mawyer also writes that the children of Islamville are taught in a storage shed. The type of education they are receiving, obviously, should be of concern. MOA has an educational branch called the International Quranic Open University.
According to a publication of Center for Policing Terrorism by Zachary Crowley, a spokeswoman for Islamville received her degree from the “university” after completing a thesis about the “Satanist-Zionist” conspiracy to frame Muslims for the attacks on the World Trade Center.
Islamville has sheltered criminals tied to MOA. In 1996, MOA/Jamaat ul-Fuqra terrorist Edward Flinton was arrested at Islamville. He was involved in numerous Fuqra terrorist plots, including a bomb plot against a Portland hotel in 1983, the bombing of a Hare Krishna temple in Denver in 1984 and the murder of rival Imam Rashad Khalifa in Arizona in 1990.
Frank Nelson, a fugitive who shot a security guard at a Long Island college in 1971, wasn’t arrested until September 2005 when he was found to be living adjacent to the commune and had converted to Islam. A registered sex offender also lived in Islamville as of 2007 but is now in Georgia.
Gunfire and defense training aren't illegal, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be deadly — especially when coupled with the extremist ideas of men like Gilani.
