Fifteen Christians have Throats Slit by Boko Haram Extremists in Northern Nigeria
They moved into the Nigerian neighborhood of Musari, because they
thought it would be safe from Boko Haram. Unfortunately, they were
wrong. Just five days after Christmas, Boko Haram rushed into the tiny
neighborhood of Musari and stabbed at least 15 Christians to death in
their homes.
This is not Boko Haram’s first attack on Nigeria’s Christian
citizens. For years, this radical Islamic group has been wreaking
unprecedented havoc on our brothers and sisters in Christ, in an attempt
to establish an Islamic republic in Northern Nigeria.
Pray that Nigeria is not split in two like Sudan.
Pray the families of these fifteen Christians that were killed.
Pray that the government of Nigeria finds and arrests all members of Boko Haram.

Syrian Rebels Beheaded Christian, Fed his Body to Dogs
A Christian man was beheaded by Syrian rebels in the northern town
of Ras al-Ayn. Andrei Arbashe was a humble taxi driver, a newlywed and a
soon-to-be father.
The war is becoming increasingly sectarian and Christians are being
targeted as a result. Many Syrian Christians fear that persecution will
escalate with the rise of Islamic extremism, especially if President
Bashar al-Assad is overthrown.
Pray for the safety of Andrei Arbashe’s wife and unborn child.
Pray for the safety of Christians in Syria, and they will be encouraged by the testimony of Andrei.
Pray that the Syrian rebels who murdered Andrei are brought to justice.

Muslim Mob Attacks Christian Worshipers on Christmas Day in Pakistan
At noon on Christmas Day, Muslim radicals wielding guns and sticks
attacked multiple churches in the tiny town of Iqbal. Although no lives
were lost, many Christians were injured and sent to local hospitals.
And even though at least 100 Muslims were reported to have committed
these crimes, only two have been arrested—par for the course in an
Islamic-run country with blasphemy laws in place.
Praise God that no one was killed; pray for the swift and complete healing of those who were injured.
Pray that Pakistani officers find and arrest those responsible.
Pray that the government of Pakistan enacts laws protecting its Christian citizens.

Armenian Pastor Detained during Christmas Raid in Iran
On December 27, Iranian security broke up a worship service of
Muslim-background believers. Of the 50 Christians, most were sent home
after questioning, except for Armenian Pastor Avanessian. Pastor
Avanessian suffers from a debilitating kidney disease that requires
dialysis twice a week. Praise God that Iranian officers have been
escorting Pastor Avenessian to the hospital for dialysis treatments,
however, this faithful leader and brother-in-Christ still remains in
prison.
Pray for the immediate release of Pastor Avenessian.
Pray that Pastor Avenessian's testimony will encourage other believers in Iran.
Pray for the Lord's protection of all Iranian citizens.

American Christian Remains Detained in North Korea
12/30/2012 North Korea ( CIC)
American citizen Kenneth Bae is currently detained in a North Korea
prison under charges of “hostile acts against the republic.” So…what
does North Korea define as “hostile acts against the republic?”
According to sources, and to “history,” evangelizing—spreading the Word
of God—is considered a very “hostile” act in North Korea. So hostile in
fact, that Bibles must be smuggled into this isolated country via
helium-filled balloons. Kenneth Bae was reportedly pulling double duty
as a travel agent and secret Christian missionary. When North Korean
officials found out that he was talking about Jesus, they immediately
had him arrested and imprisoned.
Pray for the immediate release of Kenneth Bae.
Pray that new leader, Kim Jung-Un, will allow Christian missionaries to enter North Korea without fear of imprisonment.
Pray for the salvation of all North Korea citizens.

Church in Indonesia Receives Bomb Threat Post Christmas
When a homemade bomb containing 500 nails was found in the backyard
of Salaon Toba Catholic Church on December 28 , the “picturesque”
island-church turned into a crime scene. Strangely, the church’s
priest, Herman Nainggolan, received a text message explaining that there
was a bomb on the church’s premises. Fortunately, Indonesia’s bomb
squad arrived before the bomb went off and caused any type of damage.
The bomb threat has left many congregants fearful.
Praise God that this was prevented.
Pray for the protection of all Indonesian citizens, and that the plans of those who intend to harm are foiled.
