Wilders' Islam book generates interest outside US
Published on 21 December 2011A book on Islam by Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders, which is due to be published in the US in April, is also generating interest in other countries.
“They will probably soon follow,” Wilders said on Wednesday, the first day the book could be ordered in advance. The book is called Marked for Death: Islam's War Against the West and Me and is scheduled for US release on 30 April.
Mr Wilders says the book is an “indictment of Islam and its Prophet Mohamed". It is not yet known whether it will be translated into Dutch.
The Freedom Party leader says the book offers “a solid, historical analysis of the dangers of Islamisation”. Wilders comes with concrete proposals and political solutions to “turn the tide on the Islamisation of the West and preserve our precious liberty”.
Egypt recently voiced its concerns about the publication.
The issue was discussed at the end of November during a meeting between the Dutch ambassador and the Egyptian foreign ministry.
