Islamic leader's paranoia about "Western plots"
The Organization of the Islamic Conference's (OIC) Secretary-General, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, claimed that the West has hatched plots to spread Islamophobia in a bid to block growing conversion to Islam. He demanded that Muslim nations to take collective action to defuse these plots.
Speaking in a meeting with Iran's Foreign Minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, in Tehran on Monday, Ihsanoglu warned Muslim states that high on the West's agenda is spreading "Islamophobia, insulting Islamic values and sparking and spreading hatred for Islam. He urged them to take established, and institutionalized collective measures" to confront the western plots in this regard.
He further elaborated on the OIC's activities and plans to counter Islamophobia, insult to Islamic values and resolution of Muslim issues such as Palestine. He described Iran's support as "highly crucial". As previously reported in Newsline, the OIC is pushing the "vilification of religion" agenda at the United Nations, trying to create an international blasphemy law to prevent criticism of Islam.
