How China Plans to Wipe Out House Churches
Persecution in China has been clearly and openly on the rise over
the past years. ChinaAid, a human rights group, has unveiled a sinister
plan by the Chinese regime to completely wipe out the country’s house
churches. The first part of the plan was to require house churches join
the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM) church system. The second part
includes more pressure on house churches and banning the term “house
church.” The third part of the regime’s plan is to completely shut down
any house church that does not join the TSPM.
Pray for religious freedom in China.
Pray the Gospel will continue to spread in spite of persecution.
Pray for the salvation of China's government officials.

Two Christian Boys Kidnapped in Pakistan
Two Christian boys were kidnapped by unidentified men in Karachi,
Pakistan, on Jan. 27, the Pakistan Christian Post reports. The reasons
for the kidnapping remain unknown, but some suspect that the boys were
taken because of their religious minority status. Abductions of
Christian children occur often in Pakistan, though victims are
predominantly girls who are often abused and, at times, forcibly married
to older Muslim men and forced to convert to Islam.
Pray for the safe return of these boys.
Pray for the protection of all Christian children in Pakistan.
Pray the threat of persecution, kidnapping, or even murder will not squelch the faith of the Pakistan Christians.

Christian Pastors in India Beaten and Arrested
Two Christian pastors in India's southwestern state of Karnataka
have been beaten by Hindu radicals, dragged to a Hindu temple, forced to
worship Hindu idols, and arrested for worshiping Christianity.
Unfortunately, this is an experience shared by many pastors across
India. Many pastors in India have been attacked by Hindu radicals. When
the authorities get involved, the beaten—and sometimes barely
conscious—pastors are arrested and jailed instead of their assailants.
Pray for equal justice in India.
Pray for the safety of Christians, especially pastors, in India.
Pray the Holy Spirit gives the pastors the strength and faith they need to stand firm in the face of persecution.

Elderly Couple Kicked Out of Their Home and Village Due to Their Embracing the Christian Faith
A Christian rights group in Laos reports a couple in their
fifties—Mr. Sakien and his wife, Dong—were denied the right to return
home after traveling to a nearby village and accepting Jesus as their
Savior. The couple had heard a report of healing at a nearby village,
and in January they went to the village’s church to seek prayer. When
their own village chief learned of this he issued an eviction order and
the couple was told to go live in a village with Christians, as no
Christians would be welcome in their old town.
Pray that God will continue to draw the villagers to Him through miracles.
Pray for the salvation of the village officials.
Pray for the movement of God to extend from the village and spread throughout all of Laos.

Arrest of a U.S. Pastor in Russia "Suspicious"
Pastor Thomas Kang was detained and arrested in Russia the day
before he was to open "'House of Joy,' a home he intended to use as a
retreat for disadvantaged families, children of soldiers, and Christian
groups." He has been held in Russia since September 2012, and it is
believed his arrest was meant to intimidate and delay the opening of the
home. “In light of the rising religious persecution in Russia, it seems
likely that this is an attempt to intimidate Pastor Kang and prevent
'House of Joy' from being used for religious purposes," stated a news
release from Russian Ministries.
Pray for Pastor Kang's release.
Pray the work of God will not be hindered in Russia.
Pray religious freedom will advance in Russia.

Will the Islamic Edicts of the New Mufti Hurt Christians in Kazakhstan?
With Protestants in Kazakhstan a minority, making up only 2% of the
population, the election of a new mufti is important. Yerzhan
Malgajyuly Mayamerov “was elected as Grand Mufti and chairman of the
Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Kazakhstan.” As the highest
religious official in Kazakhstan, he will be responsible for “issuing
religious edicts (fatawas).” It remains to be seen if his edicts will
protect or hurt the Christian minority in the country.
Pray God will grant Kazakhstan Christians favor with the new mufti.
Pray for the mufti's salvation.
Pray for religious freedom in Kazakhstan.
