Anti-Christian Incidents Rising in Southern India
9/24/2012 India (AsiaNews.it

A new report by a Christian group reports that 13 anti-Christian incidents have taken place in India’s southern state of Tamil Nadu since the start of 2012. This is bad news in the first place; however law enforcement in the area is doing almost nothing to stop these incidents from occurring. Tamil Nadu was thought of at one point to be a place of peace between Hindus and Christians, but now that trend is in reverse.

Pray for the Christians in Tamil Nadu, that they will continue to remain faithful despite the threat of harm.

Pray for the law enforcement in Tamil Nadu, that they will see how Christians have been wronged and will apprehend the culprits.

Pray for those who are persecuting the Christians in Tamil Nadu. Pray that God will soften their hearts so that they see the pain and suffering they are inflicting.

Religious Expression Criminalized on Bourbon Stree
9/25/2012 United States (Charisma News)

Although it seems as if the persecution is prevalent all over the world except in the United States, a recent report proves otherwise. On Bourbon Street in New Orleans, religious speech has been banned from sunset to sunrise. This ban has resulted in numerous arrests, as some Christians have continued to share the Gospel despite the ban.

Praise God that these people have ignored the ban, and have decided that spreading the Gospel is more important than obeying a ban that clearly violates the First Amendment.

Pray for those who have been arrested due to this ban, that this can be a testimony to Jesus despite their current circumstances.

Pray that some action can be taken to have this ban repealed so that Christians can freely share their faith on Bourbon Street.
Hundreds of Christians Held Hostage in Syria

Over the last few weeks, reports have flooded into ICC in regards to children being kidnapped and forced to convert to other religions. In Syria, an estimated 280 Christians are being held hostage in Rableh. The motive is still unclear, but it may center on the anti-Christian animosity in the region due to an anti-Islam film that was recently released.

Pray for the hostages, that they will not be harmed during this situation.

Pray for those who are withholding these hostages, that God will allow them to see the physical, emotional, and psychological damage they are causing.

Pray that the Syrian government will develop and carry out a plan to allow these hostages to be released.
Christian Blogger's Arrest Underlines Differences on Freedom of Speech in Egypt
9/27/2012 Egypt (The Washington Post

Article Image
In one of the most unusual cases seen at ICC, a Christian blogger—Alber Saber—in Egypt was arrested due to information he posted online and on Facebook that authorities deemed was insulting to Islam. In America, we are guaranteed the right to freedom of speech, but in Islam-dominated countries like Egypt there is limited freedom of speech.

Pray for Alber Saber, that he will remain safe in the custody of Egyptian authorities.

Pray for those who will hear the case that they will realize how little the freedom of speech is in Egypt.

Pray for the Egyptian government. Many Muslims are in power and therefore legislation that is against all other religions—especially Christianity—is easily passed. This cannot continue for the safety of those people who are not Muslims.
Heavily Persecuted Indonesian Church Faces Uncertain Future
9/28/2012 Indonesia (Jakarta Globe

In Indonesia, there is a struggle between the dominant Muslims of the country and the few, but unified Christians. A church is Jakarta has been forced out of its own building by Islamic extremists, despite the fact that the Indonesian Supreme Court ruled the church could stay. As of right now, the church is unsure about where they will meet.

Pray for this church, that they will be able to meet and be able to worship God together, without fear of persecution.

Pray for Islamic extremists, that God will soften their hearts and reveal to them the error of their ways.

Pray for the government in Indonesia. Without them enforcing the ruling of the Supreme Court, the church cannot meet in their own building.
Are the Syrian Christians Vanishing?
9/29/2012 Syria (Commonweal Magazine)

As the constant power struggle drags on in Syria, the fears of Christians are increasing. If the government is overthrown and Islamic officials are installed it is very possible that Christians will be taken out of the country for safety reasons. This would be a tragedy seeing as how Syria is a very important country in terms of Christian history.

Pray for the Christians in Syria; not only for safety but also that they will continue to let their light shine for Christ amongst the political uncertainty.

Pray for the political situation in Syria. The only way that Christians will be able to remain in the country is if the current government is not overthrown.

Pray for those who are leading the revolution against the Syrian government. Pray that God will reveal to the unrest they are causing for the average family.
