Khamenei-Tied Website Lays Out First Strike on Israel

An Iranian website tied to Supreme Leader Khamenei is laying out the theological justification for a massive pre-emptive attack on Israel, reports “Reza Kahlili,” a former member of the Revolutionary Guards who spied for the CIA.

The article on the website was written by a strategist allied to Khamenei named Alireza Forghani. Iranian leaders constantly talk about destroying Israel, but there are three reasons why this piece is unique: It lays out why there is a “jurisprudential justification” for a first-strike on Israel, how it can be done and it’s been reposted on various regime-owned websites, including the Revolutionary Guards’ Fars News Agency.

The Iranian regime’s website says an attack on Israel is now justified because the country is planning on bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities, therefore qualifying as “defensive jihad.” It then cites the Quran and the first Shiite imam. It also expresses that an attack must happen soon because of the (in Khalili’s words) “the current passive climate in the United States.”

Forghani then lays out how the attack should take place. By destroying Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem with al-Shabaab ballistic missiles, 60% of Israel’s Jewish population is eliminated. These missiles are capable of delivering nuclear warheads, but Forghani does not explicitly call for a nuclear assault.

The two-state Sejil missile should destroy the Dimona nuclear reactor and three nuclear power plants in Rafael, Eilun and Nebrin. Air force bases, airports, power plants and facilities for communication, sewage treatment and transportation should also be struck, Forghani writes.

The rest of the Israeli Jewish population in the urban areas can be killed off with Shahab and Ghadr missiles. Altogether, Forghani envisions the genocide taking only 9 minutes to complete.

As far as I know, this is the first time that Iranian regime websites and an influential figure have made the case for a pre-emptive attack on Israel aimed at decimating the Jewish population. It even makes the case that the time to do this is now.

And we wonder why the Israelis view Iran as an existential threat.

Update: MEMRI reports that Forghani used to be the governor of Kish Province and the attack must be carried out by 2014. This means that it is not necessarily a call for an immediate attack. MEMRI also reports that Forghani stresses this is his own opinion and not a declaration by the regime.

Forghani chose 2014 as the deadline for destroying Israel because that’s when Ahmadinejad’s term is up.

If Forghani believes in the End Times vision espoused in “The Coming is Upon Us,” then he believes Ahmadinejad is destined (with Khamenei and Nasrallah) to lead this final grand war against the infidel.
