Dear jean-pierre, For many of us, New Year's resolutions made with the best of intentions will be forgotten before the holiday decorations come down. Maybe that's because most of our resolutions—cleaning out the garage, pinching pennies, or losing weight—primarily benefit ourselves. Isn't it always more rewarding to help others—especially those who need us most? That's why I hope that you will resolve, before the clock strikes midnight on the 31st, to improve the lives of animals—both those who share our homes and the countless others who are at risk of abuse, exploitation, and neglect. Please make a special tax-deductible holiday donation today to help PETA mount an even stronger defense of animals who will need our help in 2011. With your help, we can resolve to conduct more groundbreaking undercover investigations, expand our hard-hitting campaigns, win cruelty convictions, and change corporate policies in order to lessen the suffering of millions of individual animals. Our work depends on the support of caring people like you. Partnering with PETA to end animal suffering involves more than just a financial contribution. So while I do hope that you can give a gift—of any amount—before the year is over, I also hope that you will consider making the following resolutions to help the special animals in your life—and reduce the suffering of countless others in great need:
Thank you for resolving to share your warmth with animals this holiday season. Very truly yours, Ingrid E. Newkirk President P.S. Most animals aren't lucky enough to have a caring person like you to look after them. For the companion animals in desperate need and the animals suffering on factory farms and fur farms, in laboratories, and in cruel circuses and zoos, please make a tax-deductible contribution to PETA today. There is no more important or more satisfying way to start the new year. |
