11/10/2010 China (ChinaAid) Three Kindergartens in South China Raided- November 7, 2010 wasn’t a normal school day for three Chinese kindergartens. In the middle of class, members of China’s Public Security Bureau (PSB) raided three schools run by Sun Haiping, the wife of a house church pastor. “Normal” inspections are led by China’s Education Bureau—not the PSB. This has made some begin to question if Sun Haiping’s schools will soon be shut down. When PSB officers entered the kindergarten classrooms, they began to question children and teachers about Sun Haiping. They also asked if the school owned Bibles or distributed them to the children. Full Story. Pray that Sun Haiping’s schools will not be closed down. Pray that the children who witnessed the raids are not scared to return to school. Pray for the safety of Sun Haiping. |

11/9/2010 Pakistan (ICC) Pakistan to Execute Christian Mother of Four for 'Blasphemy' On June 14, 2009, Asia Bibi, a Christian mother of four, was beaten by her Muslim coworkers—people she probably thought were her friends. The Muslims that attacked Asia claimed that she had made insulting remarks about the Prophet Muhammad. On June 19, 2010, Pakistani police arrested Asia and registered a blasphemy case against her—a crime that is punishable by death. In fact, on November 7, 2010, Asia Bibi was sentenced to death for her “alleged” crime. Full Story Pray that the Pakistani judge’s decision to have Asia Bibi put to death be overturned. Pray for Asia Bibi’s four children as they struggle to live life without a mother. Pray that Pakistan’s blasphemy law be repealed. |

11/8/2010 Iraq (AsiaNews) More Attacks on Christians in Baghdad a Week After Massacre
October 31, 2010 marks the day that Muslim radicals brutally massacred over 50 Iraqi Christians in the Our Lady of Salvation Church. One would think that the Islamic radicals’ desire to kill and destroy was assuaged by this vicious attack, but that thought would be wrong. Only a week after the church attacks, (November 7, 2010), two innocent Christians have been sought out and killed. One of the Christian victims has been identified as Louay Daniel Yacoub, but the other slain believer’s name is yet to be released. Full Story. Pray for the families and friends of the Iraqi Christians who were killed on October 31, 2010. Pray for the families and friends of the two Iraqi Christians who were killed on November 7, 2010. Pray that the Iraqi government will do everything in its power to protect its Christian citizens. Pray that the Lord will place a huge hedge of protection around Iraq’s Christian minority. |

11/8/2010 North Korea (CBN) Robert Park Interview: Speaking Up for North Korean Christians North Korean citizens are so isolated from the rest of the world that some of them don’t even know that a man has walked on the moon. Their internet system is government run as is their television programming. Freedom of religion is a foreign concept and being a Christian is a crime. The only “thing” North Koreans are allowed to worship is their leader, Kim Jong-il. Trying to evangelize in this spiritually-deprived country is almost certain death. Yet this fact did not stop Robert Park from crossing the Tumen River and entering North Korea. Not surprisingly, he was immediately arrested and thrown into prison for 43 days. Inhumane torture and sexual abuse did not stop Park from proclaiming the Gospel to anyone who would listen—and even to those who wouldn’t. He was there to heed the Word of the Lord and perform the Great Commission. Fortunately, Robert Park was eventually set free and is now able to tell his story and shed some light on the plight of the North Korean people. Full Story Pray for the physical and mental healing of Robert Park. Pray that Robert Park’s story will encourage other Christians to take a stand and help the North Koreans. Pray that the North Korean prisoners and guards who heard Robert Park sing will come to know the Lord—pray that seeds were planted. |

11/6/2010 Nepal (ANS) Missionary Badly Beaten in Nepal On October 17, 2010, Indra Rai Waglan—an elderly Christian—was attacked and beaten on his way to a prayer meeting. Waglan’s attackers accused the faithful believer of blaspheming their “gods” and forcing the members of two families to convert to Christianity. When the attack was over, Indra was left with a broken rib and a bruise-riddled body. Fortunately, Waglan’s attackers were found and arrested. Full Story. Pray for the complete physical and mental healing of Indra Rai Waglan. Pray that the Nepalese government enacts measures to protect its Christian citizens. Pray that Waglan’s attackers will come to know Jesus. |

11/5/2010 Pakistan (CDN) After Fatwa, Pastor in Pakistan Beaten with Bricks
Reverend Dr. Suleman Nasri Khan, a former Afghani fighter, converted to Christianity in the year 2000. Upon hearing of Khan’s conversion, Muslim extremists attacked and killed his 3-month old child, Sana Nasri Khan. After the death of baby Sana, Khan and his wife relocated to an apartment in Islamabad—a safe haven…or so they thought. On October 25, 2010, Islamic scholar Allama Nawazish issued a fatwa (religious ruling) to search out and kill Reverend Khan. With no choice but to obey, Islamic radicals came upon Khan and tried to force him to recite the Islamic creed for conversion. When Khan refused, the radicals beat him with bricks and hockey sticks. After being found on the side of the road, Khan was taken to a private clinic where he stayed unconscious for four hours. Full Story Pray for the complete physical and mental healing of Reverend Khan. Pray for a hedge of protection around Khan’s newborn baby who was named after his deceased daughter, Sana. Pray that the Pakistani government will find and prosecute Khan’s attackers. |

11/5/2010 UK (ChristianToday) Christians in West Told to 'Prepare for Persecution' Christian persecution, for the most part, has been limited to places like Indonesia, Iraq, Vietnam, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, China…the list goes on. However, according to Barnabus Fund, Christians in the West need to be prepared for suffering and persecution. The foundation of their most recent statement comes from an adoption case—a case that will probably set a precedent (good or bad) for future adoption cases. The High Court is actually questioning whether or not Eunice and Owen Johns are fit to adopt, because their Christian beliefs prevent them from accepting homosexuality. To say this statement is “outrageous” is an understatement. The case could perhaps be a precursor of persecution yet to come. Full Story Pray that the High Court allows Eunice and Owen Johns to adopt a child. Pray that the ideology behind this court case does not trickle into the Western world. Pray that, if persecution does arrive, we as Christians are able to stand firm in our faith. |
