Police Blamed as “Racist” for Stopping and Searching More Blacks, Muslims
UN POLICIER BRITANNIQUE ACCUSE DE "RACISME" POUR AVOIR CONTROLE TROP DE NOIRS ET DES MUSULMANSMay 1, 2009 by BNP News

Although the empirical evidence is overwhelming that knife crime and terrorism in modern Britain originate amongst the black and Muslim communities, the police are still branded as “racist” when they try and take preventative measures against these crimes.
The usual cries of “institutional racism” have once again been heard with the news that black people are almost eight times as likely as whites to be stopped and searched.
The use of ordinary stop and search tactics in England and Wales rose sharply to more than one million in 2007–08, the highest figure since 1998. The rise has had a disproportionate impact on non-whites.
Observers point out that this is not “racism” but just normal policing response to phenomena which is verifiable by looking at readily available data.
For example, a Freedom of Information request submitted to the Metropolitan Police in August 2008 revealed that non-whites were the suspects in over 60 percent of knife crime in London.
It is therefore not “racist” for the police to be searching black youths. As a comment on a newspaper website said: “Pro rata, black people are more likely to commit a crime, ergo they are more likely to be searched. If nuns were robbing banks I am sure there would be an increase in the numbers of nuns searched. If the rate of crime between black and white was similar, I imagine the stop and search would be too.”
Figures published by the Ministry of Justice for stops and searches in 2007–08 under Section 44 counter-terror laws were also published, leading to hysterical claims that the “Muslim community was being alienated.”
Tory coward Shadow Home Secretary Chris Graling whined, “People will be highly suspicious about the scale of stop and search under terror laws. This will reinforce the view that anti-terror powers are used for unrelated purposes.”
The reality is that the statistics show that thousands of Muslims have been arrested in Britain over the last ten years in connection with planned or executed terrorist acts, and an entire high security prison has been set aside just for Muslim inmates. This hardly constitutes “racist” victimisation but is merely a reflection of the factual situation on the ground with which the police have to deal.
According to the new figures, there was a 322 percent rise in black people stopped and searched, 277 percent in Asians and 185 percent in white people under anti-terror laws.
Keith Vaz, the chairman of the Commons Home Affairs Select Committee, and leader of Labour’s Black Socialist Society, said in his reaction that the figures accentuated “concerns that the powers disproportionately affect members of the minority ethnic community.”
* In 2008, Tony Blair claimed the spate of knife and gun murders in London was not being caused by poverty, but “a distinctive black culture.” Mr Blair said the recent violence should not be treated as part of a general crime wave, but as specific to black youth. He said people had to drop their political correctness and recognise that the violence would not be stopped “by pretending it is not young black kids doing it.”
