Petition Calling for the Immedate Release and Safekeeping of Rimsha Misrak

Rimsha is a Christian, and today she is sitting in a Pakistani jail awaiting trial on the charge of blasphemy. The charge carries a potential death sentence, and even though it’s unlikely she will be sentenced to death, her life is still in danger. Her crime? Allegedly burning pages with bits of the Quran written on them. Today, you have an opportunity to speak up on behalf of little Rimsha, and potentially set a precedence for others like her. Sign our petition today!

Here's how you can help:

08/26/2012 Syria (BBC) Syria's Christians Drawn Into Conflict-

Pastor Umar Mulinde of the Pentecostal Gospel Life Church International was brutally assaulted with acid by two assailants on Christmas Eve 2011. Though he was severely hurt, the harsh burns could not change his faith or his acknowledgment of Christ. Mulinde says that he sympathyzes with his attackers, and forgives the negligence of the them as well. He is now trying to recover from his damages at the Sheba Hospital.

Praise God for the righteous man that Pastor Umar is, that in the face of intense, physical pain, he still kept his heart and mind on the Lord.
Pray for Pastor Umar's swift recovery, that he will not continue to suffer, and that his healing will be a testiment to the healing powers of Christ!
Pray for the assaliants. Pray that they too will come to know the grace, hope and love and Jesus Christ.

File:Flag of Mali.svg08/26/2012 Iran (ACLJ) Tweet for Imprisoned Iranian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani Reaches 2.9 Million-

Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani was charged with apostasy (the illegal act of leaving Islam) and has been imprisoned since 2009. He refuses to recant his Christian faith, and the ACLJ happily reported that their awareness campaign, The ACLJ Tweet for Youcef campaign, “is now reaching more than 2.9 million Twitter accounts worldwide each day." The ACLJ is able to tweet nearly 3 million people across 97 percent of the world’s nations with updates on Youcef’s condition. Pastor Youcef is scheduled to appear before a court in two weeks for the charges brought against him.

Pray that awareness for Pastor Youcef will continue to grow, and that many will know Christ through his testimony.
Pray that Pastor Youcef will continue to stand firm and bear the Name of Christ.
Pray that those who are persecuting him will come to know Jesus.

Please sign up to tweet for Youcef today!

08/26/2012 Pakistan (The Telegraph) Christian Boy Tortured and Killed in Pakistan-

The mutilated body of a Christian boy was found in Faisalabad on Tuesday. The murder comes just days after the arrest of a Christian girl on blasphemy charges, an offense punishable by death in Pakistan. Extreme violence and barbarous acts of torture and murder targeting Christians and other religious minorities continues to escalate in Pakistan. Pakistan is increasingly being ruled on the streets by radical Muslims who take justice into their own hands by committing ever-more violent acts against religious minorities, especially perceived blasphemers. What’s worse is that the aggressors, often protected by Pakistan’s blasphemy laws, remain on the streets while Christians are thrown in prison unjustly. The country is simmering with religious hatred. Whatever freedoms Christians and other religious minorities still have will soon be nonexistent.

Pray for the family of Samuel Yaqoob, that they will be brought closer to the Lord through their grief.
Pray that this family will persevere and grow in the Lord.
Pray that those who committed this crime will be brought to justice, convicted by the Holy Spirit, and then come to Christ seeking forgiveness.

File:Flag of Syria.svg08/27/2012 Iran (BosNewsLife) Jailed Iranian Pastor Facing Death, Denied Medical Care-

Pastor Behnam Irani is in prison for apostasy (the illegal act of leaving Islam). He has developed a blood infection and doctors said that they may need to remove part of his intestines, but so far nothing has been done to treat this health issue. Iranian officials have reportedly told Behnam that "he is not going to leave the prison alive." His health troubles may be linked to his mistreatment in the Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. He began his sentence in 2011, but later was told that it would be extended by a five-year sentence for "crimes against national security" which was previously suspended. Behnam may face the death penalty, but may die sooner if he continues to be denied medical treatment.

Pray that Behnam Irani will receive sufficient medical care immediately.
Pray that Behnam will be comforted by the Holy Spirit and that he will be strengthened and steadfast in his faith.
Pray that Behnam will keep his eyes on Christ, and that through his witness many Iranian official will be born again.

08/28/2012 Kenya (International Christian Concern) Muslim Rioters Attack Five Churches, Kill Two in Kenya-

Muslim rioters attacked five churches and killed two people, including a policeman in Kenya. The riots continued over the course of two days after an unknown gunmen killed Sheikh Aboud Rogo, a radical Muslim cleric. The Muslim attackers blame the police for the killing of Sheikh Rogo.

Pray for the repentance of al-Shabaab members.
Pray that the Church will not be discouraged, but rather will be strengthened in faith through these trials.
Pray that these believers will continue to meet together and worship, and that they will persevere.

File:Flag of Kuwait.svg08/29/2012 Pakistan (BosNewsLife) Muslims Rape, Murder Pakistan Christian Girl-

Muqadas Kainat, a 12-year-old Christian girl from Punjab, was raped and murdered two weeks ago. She was attacked in Sahiwal city on August 14 while she went to the field to relieve herself. A Christian group has demanded the arrest
of five Muslim men whom the group believes “gang raped and murdered” Muqadas.

This tragic event happened at the same time that another Christian girl from
Islamabad was arrested for allegedly burning pages of an Islamic book. No one
has been arrested or brought to justice for the crime against Muqadas.

Pray that those who committed this crime will be brought to justice.
Pray for the repentance of those who committed this crime.
Pray that the family of Muqadas will be comforted and remain steadfast in
their faith, and that they will forgive the perpetrators.
Pray for the safety and protection of Pakistan’s female population.
