Terrorism In Norway: Rolling News
After the terrible events in Norway there has been a great deal of speculation about what led Anders Breihvik to commit such an act, whether he did have friends and associates in the UK, and what can be done to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again.
On this page we will provide you with links to all EDL media appearances, related-articles and announcements, so as to provide a full account of events.

26th July
Tommy Robinson has yet again had to defend the EDL on 3 Counties Radio from wild accusations that the EDL is Far-Right and has links to the Norwegian terrorist suspect Anders Behring Breihvik.
As Tommy rightly states; just because a ‘cyber’ member of the EDL (who could be anyone) has Breihvik listed as one of their virtual friends, does not mean that there was ever any solid link to the EDL.
Anyone who has militant views is soon swiftly ejected and banned from the organisation.
The EDL is vehemently opposed to extremism, its ideology and its terrorist actions.
It was what the EDL was founded to oppose, not support. Extremism under any guise is wrong and murder will always be murder, and will never be tolerated within the EDL, let alone justified.
26th July
Tommy Robinson appeared on CNN news to talk about the concern that we could see similar acts of terrorism in the UK within the next decade.
The problems caused by Islamism and the frustrations caused by our government’s refusal to act on behalf of the people who elected it may well we fear trigger someone to emulate Anders Breihvik. This is not a threat (as some have taken to interpreting it), but a warning – it is something that we want to play our part to help prevent.
Unfortunately, the government has been infiltrated on all levels, with politicians that have for so long supported the Islamisation of or nation. This is of course making members of society angry that their voices and opinions are being ignored.
The EDL strongly reject all forms of violence. We cannot ever combat extremism with extremism. But we are a voice that needs to be heard, and if the people keep getting ignored then they get angry and frustrated.
There will never be any justification for the taking of any life for political or religious reasons. So our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Norway in their time of grief and loss.
27th July
Tommy Robinson appears on ITV Daybreak and discusses Breihvik’s rejection of the EDL.
He also discusses the police harassment that he’s suffered so far this year, and how this is just indicative of the politically correct agenda that suppresses debates and demonises anyone who says anything inconvenient.
Adrian Chiles also makes a point of complimenting our website (cheers pal).
27th July
Tommy Robinson appears on BBC News 24 to repeat the terrorist’s claim that the EDL are “naive fools” for rejecting extremism.
He reminds us that there is an elephant in the room – radical Islam.
Breihvik’s acts were certainly despicable, and although there are certainly lessons that we can all learn from his radicalisation, the fact remains that he was incredibly well-read and independently minded (citing a wide range of authors, journalists and public figures in his writings).
Unlike radical Islam, which has successfully brainwashed hundreds of people into becoming suicide bombers, it is not fair to say that there was any one ideology that lay at the route of Breihvik’s madness. Much of the media appears to think differently, and is all-too-keen to blame ‘the far right’ (whoever they are).
Where nationalist politics, criticism of Islam, patriotism, and a love of freedom of speech are involved only a genuinely tiny minority ever embrace violence – much like any other subsection of society.
But where the comparison with Islam really breaks down is the source material. Breihvik had to invent his own justifications – and his lengthy writings are a terrible testament to that.
Radical Muslims find their justifications pre-prepared – in the Qu’ran, and in the example of Mohammed.
27th July
Tommy Robinson once again takes to the airwaves, this time on Radio 5 Live, and speaks with Maajid Nawaz from the Quilliam Foundation.
The presenter does a great deal to desperately try and link Breihvik to the EDL – a tendency that is becoming as insulting as it is tiresome – whilst Maajid Nawaz compares the EDL to Islamic extremists.
Apparently he’s missed the blindingly obvious – the EDL campaign AGAINST extremism.
Why is it that certain sections of the media are so keen to portray people who campaign against extremist and extremists in their own right? This kind of attitude is helping no one.
27th July
Tommy appeared on the Jeremy Vine show on BBC Radio 2 to once again explain the claim he made on Newsnight that we could see a similar attack in the UK in the next 5-10 years.
He challenged the view that the spread of ‘anti-Islamic’ sentiment across Europe was the result of ‘dormant racists’ suddenly coming to prominence, and pointed out the obvious – it’s because Islam has failed to deal with the extremism that exists within its midst.
When most political parties and the press ignore these problems (or are severely limited in their discussions because of the influence of political correctness), it is understandable that those groups that do show an openness to address these issues gain considerable support.
Luckily, in this country the one organisation that continues to put the problems with radical Islam at the top of the agenda is a non-political, non-racist, anti-fascist protest movement.

Ugly suspicions give rise to rumours about the identity of Anders Breihvik’s alleged English contacts.
We’ve released a statement regarding one such source of these rumours. (Click here).
